Our Members and Institutional Partners
Together for a sustainable future
The Members represent the institutional heart of FELCOS and guide its vision, activities and development prospects. Since its inception in 2007, the Association has grown through the commitment and active participation of territorial entities that have chosen to share a common path oriented toward the promotion of sustainable development and international cooperation.
Over time, the FELCOS network has expanded and consolidated, involving local governments and territorial institutions that participate in the life of the association, contribute to the definition of strategies and collaborate in the implementation of projects and initiatives at the local and international levels.
The Association’s new Bylaws provide for different forms of participation in the FELCOS network, designed to enhance the contribution of territories and encourage the building of multilevel and multi-actor partnerships. Within this framework, the Association distinguishes between Ordinary Members, Thematic Members and Institutional Partners, each with specific ways of participation and collaboration.
Ordinary Members are the territorial entities that participate in a stable and continuous way in the associative life of FELCOS. They constitute the institutional base of the Association and actively contribute to the definition of strategic directions, participating in the Assembly and governance bodies.
Through their membership, Ordinary Members take part in the activities, programs and projects promoted by FELCOS, contributing to the development of international cooperation initiatives, sustainable local development, global citizenship education and strengthening territorial policies for sustainability.
THEMATIC MEMBERS.
Thematic Members are territorial entities that choose to join the Association in relation to specific initiatives, networks or areas of intervention promoted by FELCOS.
This form of participation allows territories to collaborate on issues of common interest and to take part in projects, programs and paths of territorial innovation, encouraging the dissemination of best practices and the construction of thematic networks between local authorities.
INSTITUTIONAL PARTNERS
Institutional Partners are public or private organizations that share the principles and objectives of FELCOS and collaborate with the Association in the implementation of activities, programs and projects.
Universities, research organizations, public institutions, civil society organizations and others can contribute specific expertise and resources to the development of the initiatives promoted by the Association, strengthening the collaborative and multi-actor dimension of territorial partnerships.
